ABOUT US

Maui Mixerʻs was established in 2015. Our goal is to provide support to native Hawaiian communities of Keanae, Maui and Statewide to help improve their socio-economic conditions.

MISSION STATEMENT

A) Research, Training and Support to Native Hawaiian Organizations to secure funding opportunities and network with the philanthropic sector.

B) Develop and Support culturally-grounded projects that help to promote and perpetuate traditional Hawain practices.

C) Grant Writing Training, Grants Management and Training, & Grant and Project Oversight to assure fiscal accountability.

D) Support Na Mahiʻai o Keanae (Farmers of Keanae) in partnership with Pilipaʻa LLC through volunteer work-days, water systems monitoring, and grant opportunities.

Malama Hoʻoulu Aloha

Maui Mixer is implementing projects and programs to support native Hawaiian communities State-wide. Our funding development team is providing opportunities to fund specific programs that align with funders and philanthropists interests.

Sustainable Native & Local Food Production

Help support Hawaiian farmers with resources to increase food production and decrease Hawaiiʻs dependence on outside fruits and vegetables. 90% of Hawaii food is imported, making us vulnerable to natural disasters and global events that impact the shipping and food support, as did the covid-19 pandemic.

Funding this program will go towards farm equipment, labor, and support for economic opportunities through food products and native food and plants.

Moʻolelo: Hawaiian Storytelling & Media Production

Moʻolelo is a partnership with Michael Andres Palmieri, a media and entertainment industry executive, EA Ecoversity, Kuakanaka LLC, Project Kuleana & Mana Maoli. Help support Hawaiian and Indigenous writers and youth to learn about screenwriting for t.v. and film, along with music video production of traditional and modern songs grounded in the Hawaiian culture and stories.

Funding this program will go towards consultant services to implement the 10-month screenwriting program and 3 month music video production programs throughout the State of Hawaii

Native Hawaiian Philanthropy

Please support our on-going research and program development to provide native Hawaiian serving nonprofit organizations with the support needed to create sustainable funding opportunities for long-term impacts and planning.

This program is partnered with 14 native Hawaiian nonprofits that implement successful programs that are culturally-grounded and fiscally responsible.

Maui Mixer will bridge together Foundations, Philantropists and Philanthropy organizations with native Hawaiian communities throughout the State of Hawaii. Funding for this program will support on-going Philanthropy networking and research.

Native Hawaiian Community Socio-Economic Development & Support

This program will provide socio-economic opportunities to native Hawaiian serving nonprofits.

Funding for this program will provide resources to native Hawaiian community projects that support the promotion and perpetuation of traditional practices and/or improve the socio-economic conditions of families and communities.

Na Mahiʻai o Keanae (The Farmers of Keanae)

Maui Mixer, dba Na Mahiʻai o Keanae has been providing support and assistance to the Keanae community since 2019. The goal of this project is to provide farm support to Keanae and Maui taro farmers to promote food sustainability and home gardens. Na Mahiʻai o Keanae has a 10-year agreement with the Board of Land and Natural Resources to help monitor and maintain the water system that leads into the Keanae peninsula and taro crops.
